echo

i believe in the Sacred echo
i hear it again and again,
and it always leads to Him.

yesterday i typed words read the day before that:
"This day is what matters. Today is the only day we have to give to Jesus."  Isaac Hunter

and today i read these:
"I have always been struck by Moses' statement, "Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Psalm 90:12)
There is certain type of focus, intentionality and perspective that we gain when we understand the capacity or quantity of our life." Gary Barkalow

"we are not as earnest as dying men ought to be... how much the shortness of our time ought to stir our hearts…to ardency of love and fervency of zeal…in our days of sojourning here!” Charles Spurgeon

can you hear it? or is it just me?
the Sacred echo

i am thankful for the echoing
the echoing of His love
as He pursues His beloved

humbled
and thankful

  1. Yes, I hear it too. I am always somehow overwhelmed with love and gratitude when the Father does this for me. He patiently echoes - in His gentle way - until I cannot miss what He is teaching me.
I love these quotes. I have reached an age where I am learning to treasure this day and be thankful that I have this one.

  2. His patience and gentleness. i am so very thankful.

It's funny (a sweet type of funny :) i am supposing that perhaps we are not the same age - but i too have "reached an age where i am learning to treasure this day and be thankful that I have this one."

i think it is here at this place of gratitude for 'today' where we begin to truly acknowledge that apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5) and it is by His grace we are what we are (1 Corinthians 15:10)

His blessings as remember all's Grace :)

  4. "we are not as earnest as dying men ought to be"

Wow. Put as elegantly and bluntly as only C.S could have, eh?

This is true and I think that winter is an especially challenging time to be earnest. At a time when everything is resting around us, we can be lulled into complacency. It's easy to sleep and daydream and lose sight of the moment at hand.... to let it slip away like the shortened day.

A great reminder and gentle admonition my friend. Thanks for sharing!

    Love,
    K

  5. I love it when our Heavenly Father shows us how amazing He is! Gracefully reminding us that intentionally living in now is the best place to be in His story. Love this sacred echo, sister!
