gratitude, His grace written on my page

forever grateful, forever counting (from my 1100's)

that for the first time, they wished to talk with me daily
the way their voices sound so small on the other end of the phone line
listening to them play the song they composed together
the story of the one that ate the bait and got away
the ice cream treats delivered by the neighbor who just happens to be the Baskin Robbins man
the burying of treasure, to be dug up on their next visit

bunny-love relaxing in our seen-better-days, crushed velvet, gold chair

fresh tomatoes from our container garden (ha! it's one container)

the excitement of closing one school year and opening another
new beginnings, full of anticipation
that she sent the email that said 'check this out'

that (unknowingly) we both read this e-book and were blessedly surprised to share in the sharing

baby girl born; both she and her mother, beautiful and safe
a loving and proud grandma sharing the news

whenever i am asked to play the ice breaker game where you state an adjective that describes you which begins with the same letter of your name, i am blessed to say, "thankful"

phone dates, eternal friendships
prayers

i am thankful that the term "princess" brings a picture to my mind
(it's not Snow White, Cinderella, or Belle)
she is beautiful (His daughters are - Love within, radiating), and no one cares that her dress is worn (it's from adventure and battle - she is a warrior)

the beauty of His children as they trust Him,
as they marvel at the wonder of His miraculous ways

books of remembrance and gratitude; His love recorded, His grace written on the page

knowing that i am not perfect
knowing that i cannot be perfect
knowing that His perfect love casts out fear (1 John)
that i am free to be me - the who i am, because of Whose i am

safe travels for all
road trip with my mom
returning home with our beautiful children

visiting an aunt born in 1922
her stories, her story

our guest, the Dutch princess
her laughter
the way she stops mid-sentence to sing a line or two of the song playing on the radio
(i'll forever smile a smile of her remembrance when i hear, "i was made to love you" and "i refuse" :)
a special recipe she prepared for us

the 'fun' picture

and the joy in my prayers and great hope for her future (Jeremiah 29:11)

i would like to go on and on....
there is so much more, for i am richly blessed.
oh how He loves me so,
and oh how He loves you!

may The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
(Numbers 6:24–26, NIV)

  1. Loving your list, and so so glad you were faithful to post it.... I'm inspired! :)

It is pretty cool that Aleda stayed with you.. just another of so many things we share. :)

    and this:
knowing that i am not perfect
knowing that i cannot be perfect
knowing that His perfect love casts out fear (1 John)
that i am free to be me - the who i am, because of Whose i am

it is so freeing and aren't we so loved? I love this and am taking this thought with me today.

    Love you much,
    Kara
