Thankful

O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
4 Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
6 When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
7 Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
8 My soul follows close behind You;
Your right hand upholds me.

His amazing grace. the joy that emanates still

brushing my teeth, boy love enters. he smiles at me.
something catches his eye, i am watching him. he is looking in the mirror.
he smiles easily. then he says, quite simply:
i didn't realize i looked this good in this

the way He placed the Five exactly where He wants them
with neighbors who warmly welcome, and space that multiplies
with lamps, lamps, and more lamps - each a reminder of Light (John 8:12, Psalm 119:105)

  1. Oh how the Lord echos:

    When I remember You on my bed,
    I meditate on You in the night watches.

    Just this morning I was meditating on this verse. I was wondering if it was a good idea to open sleepy eyes and reach for the Word before anything else. I was wondering if I would be awake enough. I wondered if it was OK to be unshowered, in rumpled bed clothes, sleep in the eyes and tangles in the hair to meet with the Lord, there in my bed like that. And that scripture came to mind. And your repeated it here.
    A divine answer to a question not yet asked aloud.

    I am so happy for you and your I do..... the hours spent together. A treasure, I know. And I smile at the boy and his reaction to his reflection. I hope he will always see his beauty.

    And the girl.... a horse show! How very exciting! I am a proud, beaming auntie over here.

    I love you much!
