I am ever grateful for the Giver and His gifts

Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him."
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him,
to the one who seeks him;
it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD.

His mercies are new every morning

a crane taking off with his wings gently touching the water

the dark of night
him on his side with arm outstretched under my pillow
me on my side, hand under my pillow, resting in his

bedtime prayers with our children

hearing him ask her if he spelled 'summer' correctly
hearing her say, "nice job, Buddy"

seeing him smile
remembering the day a friend said his smile reminds her of mine

children who love to read
their excited chatter as we look over curriculum that just arrived

neighbors who are 'neighborly'

a bald eagle alighting on a tree just up ahead
watching his flight as he ascends over our heads

cat naps
power naps

our son asking if his stuffed dog can have a sleepover in our room tonight :}

searching through books to identify the owl we saw in the woods
discovering it is a great horned owl

the questions they ask over lunch:
"Is there any food you can't tear apart with your hands?"
"Is a cherry seed edible?"
"What does the word 'cautious' mean?"

summer school:
learning laundry
making breakfast on their own (almost :)





a Grandma who takes a day off work to stay and visit











how a memory can seem so long ago and just yesterday at the same time
